Interfacings
is a new online publication devoted to contemporary interdisciplinary
approaches to media practices created by the graduate students of the
Institute of Communications Research at the University of Illinois.
Interfacings
is an open, peer reviewed periodical that seeks a variety of approaches
to the study of media objects and practices, with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity
and innovative approaches. Interfacings provides a forum for scholars
to shape the future of media and cultural studies.
Interfacings
calls for original manuscripts that examine the frontiers of the field
of media studies. The title reflects the common boundaries that exist
in interdisciplinary scholarship. The qualitative, critical perspective
that defines this journal will open new areas for analysis and create
new frameworks for inquiry in contemporary media studies.
