In an attempt to bridge the gaps between the scholarly world, the sphere of policy creation, and everyday lived experience the Initiative on Communications, Culture and Policy turned outward in search of current endeavors - occurring in any of these spheres - that speak to the complex relationships between culture and policy making. In order to do so the Institute mapped both the cultural and policy arenas of communications onto the following four vectors:

To be responsible and effective citizens, knowledgeable consumers, adept critical thinkers in the world today, we must understand mondern media and the systems, institutions, and policies that produce and govern them. This extensive network of resources regarding the intersections of communications, media, and culture offers an informative step towards rethinking how culture figures or is neglected in the conceptualization and enactment of such policies.
