The College of Media offers numerous resources to its students, including a comprehensive library, computer labs and support, internship/job placement assistance, access to faculty with professional experience and opportunities to join career-related student organizations.

One of the most important resources is the Student Services Center, where the staff guides students through their academic careers. The Student Services Center helps students find the appropriate resources to ensure an enriching and rewarding journey through the College and into their careers.

The Student Services Center is back!
The Student Services Center of the College of Media has returned to Gregory Hall. You can find us in Room 18, the middle wing of the basement, across from the vending machines. When you visit, please pardon the dust. Workers are still installing a few essentials (such as doors), but we are open for business.

Course scheduling, records and advising questions are welcome 9-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. We're open 8 to 5, but if you desire a conversation, come during the prime hours. We can be reached at 217-244-4329 or media-ssc@uiuc.edu. For more information on student services offered by the College, see the Student Services Center page.

Edmund J. James Scholars program
The James Scholar Honors Program is a Universitywide honors program founded to recognize and encourage the talents of academically outstanding undergraduate students within each college. The program is named for the fourth president of the University of Illinois, Edmund J. James, who believed that scholarship and research are fundamental to human progress. In the years of his presidency, from 1904-1920, he procured top scholars, developed graduate programs, and encouraged a sense of community among faculty and students. His many achievements helped to transform the University of Illinois into a university with an international reputation. Students in the College of Media are encouraged to investigative and work toward becoming James Scholars. Please see the form and rules, below, and speak to your adviser if you have questions.
